We got Orders (and a side of complications of course)

Finally! It's official. Mike has his orders and Hayden and I are on them. Paco didn't make it on to the new orders, but we'll just wait and get reimbursed for his expense with our travel expenses. Now starts the hustle and bustle of making an overseas move.

The first headache:
We are shipping my car at our expense from Hawai'i to Texas. For a car to be shipped off the island, it must have either been released by the lein holder or not have a lein against it. We paid off the note on my car in December, partly because I couldn't stomach the 9.25% interest rate and partly to make shipping it simple, or so I thought. In December I had a new born baby and I lost my mind. The Central Pacific Bank mailed us a letter with pay-off confirmation along with the title to my car. The title said Nissan at the top and I saw Michael Brown on it. But I obviously didn't give it a second glance before stuffing it into our fireproof box. I became concerned about our Certificate of Registration yesterday and checked to see if it still said we had a lein holder. Indeed, it does, because it was renewed in November, before the note was paid off. So yesterday I told Mike that we needed to get that straightened out just to make sure there were no questions when we get to the port with my car. So last night I got the title out of the safe box so Mike can take it with him and to our surprise (10 months after it was sent)it is the title for a 2008 Nissan Pick-up belonging to Michael P. Brown on the Big Island. My Michael Brown is a Michael E. Brown and my name should appear on the title as well. Mike is going to go talk to the bank today (hopefully - he has to be released from work first) to try to straighten out this mess and obtain our Nissan Murano title.
